Stunning VW 1995 T4 2.5l Petrol Eurovan
US equivalent of Caravelle but with lot more gadgets as standard
Electric Windows, Central Locking, Air Conditioning and Cruise Control yes cruise control in 24year old campervan!!!
Auto gearbox which makes it real pleasure to drive.
Extremely low mileage of 68k and this reflected in the condition both inside and out. This camper stands out for all the right reasons and sleeps with comfort. We have had lots of admirers when parked up.
The camper was been imported by campervan specialist, bought it in 2017 and have been the only UK owner. It's from Japan, so no rust as they don't use salt on their roads. have had work done on it by several mechanics who have each stated that it's the best T4 they ever seen in terms of bodywork and condition underneath.
The camper is left hand drive and registered as campervan with the DVLA.
A lot of time and money has been invested however it just doesn't get the use that I'd hoped for. It's time to free up some money and lets somebody else enjoy it.
More about the conversion:
When brought the van it had pop-top/ elevating roof which think may be original its certainly of the period. Gives lots of head room and provides light and airy feel.
I've fitted rear kitchen bar with very expensive Waeco CD-30 drawer fridge (£550), pull out drawers for portable stove cooking kit and weekend essentials. The rear also has access to large storage compartment which we used for the camper table and other larger items.
I've kept the inside reasonably original as like that look. Both front seats swivel and the original rear bench seat folds down to hold the boards for large double bed. With the kitchen at the rear there's tonnes of room inside. large drawer unit provides lots of extra storage. There are removable boards for the top bed in the pop up roof. have slept up there with my 8yr daughter so there's plenty of space.
The conversion also benefits from;
Tow bar and electrics (unused)
New leisure battery with split charge relay
Internal lights
12V sockets
New flooring
Large windout awning
Drawer Fridge
Too good to be true?
I've had an intermittent problem with the engine spluttering, occasionally to halt. I've had it fully checked by both mechanic. It was fixed as simple electrical shorting problem and had no problems with it over the winter. Unfortunately its happing again. The engine starts every time from cold, runs and then cuts out. Sometimes it runs for 5-10mins and other times it can be less than 30s. have had lot of difficulty getting mobile mechanic with the correct VG software to diagnose the problem.
For this reason must class this non-runner, however I've priced the van to reflect this. The camper will need to be transported or towed. Please do not bid unless you can arrange transportation.
The MOT is due in May
With the very low mileage and the amazing Eurovan specification, fully working this camper could be worth excess of £10k so think this could be an absolute bargain for someone.
The van has been very well looked after in since its been in the UK (see list of work below which has been completed in the last 2,000 miles)
Last service with cambelt change (at 66931 miles)
Air Con new compressor and recharge
Auto Gearbox- full service and oil change
4 new tyres and full steel wheel refurb
Waxoil/undersealing
Ribbed belt and idlers replaced
Fuel pump and filter
replaced
Break fluid and front brake pads replaced
New ball joints (near and offside)
New rear silencer
This is very cheap as the import costs, duties, registration, and servicing etc came to well over £8000 and this is before all the other work done on the conversion and maintenance since them.
