This is cruncheda little on one end, but still usableSolid floor construction, aluminum sheathedFramed, dadoed, glued and screwed1.5” fiberglass insulationSeamless sheet aluminum roofInsta-Matic cu. Ft. gas elec. Refrigerator that stillworks! I am being VERY honest with you here. As an at thetime worried mother, had this trailer redone for my 20 something daughterwho was planning to live in it for year in the woods. For that reason, had manythings redone, safety features installed, ease of use features installed sothat might not worry forever and might sleep at night! Now, she’s been there and done that, (not even fora year!) and the trailer is for sale. This is one solid vintage trailer! have to say that I’vehad four travel trailers, and the vintage ones have never had mouse in them. That is passing big testhere, as we live in the country. My brand new, fancy, expensive trailer, purchased and then sold again few years ago, had mice in it in week’s time! While the original exterior paint is worn pretty thin on theVacationer, the heavy-duty metal sidingis in absolutely great shape! don’t think there are any significant dents orbruising. The exterior door and lock works perfectly and is very solid. The screen door is good too. All exterior lights work. All the windows workgreat and are like new. The end of one window crank knob is broken but you canstill use it.  There was some water damage to the ceiling when we bought the trailer, primarily confined to the ends where the roof rounds down to the back and front walls, and in the bathroom. We did all repairs necessary in those areas and did replace some of the ceiling. The trailer is very solid. What remains seems to be just interior surface damage. have included pictures of the damage in those areas. The areas in the back, as shown, are behind the dinette cushions so you don't see them unless you remove the cushions. There is similar damage inside that upper cabinet on both corners. The damage in the front is above the new bookshelf on the left side only. We immediately resealed the roof when we purchased the trailer and it has not leaked since.
The structure of the trailer is very strong and tight! Thefloor is totally solid and the vintage flooring is in perfect shape. The fiberglass fender skirts have not survived so well. Theyare pretty fragile, and broken off in places. It would be great if you could usethem as pattern and get some one to make new ones.  As far as know, everything is in working order, except forone LED light over the kitchen sink. It may just have loose wire. haven’tlooked.  The dinette seats four at least and easily turns into asecond bed for two. The (I’m guessing original) cushions all appear to be in verygood condition – olive green on one side and funky early ’70’s vintage green floralprint on the other side. see no tears or worn areas. There is strangecombination of extra cushions – all matching fabric, as we eliminated the couchwhere we built the bed. Depending on how you configure them, one or two of thedinette back cushions is missing, but one of the extras could easily be adaptedto fit.  The heater is now under one side bench of the dinette, theback outside storage compartment is under the long bench, and an inside storagecompartment is under the bench by the oven. My daughter made the curtains. The window curtains all havelight blocking fabric backings so they are very opaque when closed. No one canpeek in at night. As they’re heavy, some new curtain rods are in order, maybewooden dowels. I love the gypsy platform bed, with two layer, sheer tieback drapes framing the bed, sparkle night sky window curtains, and 10 hooks underthe bookshelf for the glass lanterns my daughter made of glass jars that hangfrom picture wire. She put tiny LED candles in them and they had greateffect! There’s new alder bookshelf built over the bed that holds lots ofbooks. ** As of now, the lanterns do NOT go with the trailer. The orange duvetand cover and the pillows might if you really want them. Let me say that all the structural and mechanical work we’vedone to the trailer has been done by professional carpenter, cabinetmaker, ormy professional trailer repair guy and everything has been done very well. Noshoddy workmanship, no cheap fixes. My trailer guy has provided statementthat all is in good order as far as he knows, without camping in it. I have most, not all, of the receipts and paperwork onthings that were installed or done, all organized in notebook, and another notebook of the old manuals that camewith the trailer originally. They’re fun! Included there is the ‘72 NPS Camping Code of Ethics and ‘71 Montana Recreation Map! also compileda detailed how-to manual for mydaughter that is included. believe we are the third owner of The Vacationer and all owners haveresided in Montana.  I am embarassed to say that we have invested at least 11,000. in this trailer, not counting our own labor. It is essentially pretty new trailer in wonderful old vintageskin! believe it is built so much better, so much stronger and tighter thanany new trailer out there, based on what I’ve seen!  What we’ve done to the trailer, all of it done in thelast 2.5 years: Exterior structural:•  coats of Liquidroof. This roof does NOT leak! •  Five new tires, including the spare•  Battery system includingtwo new 24 group deep cycle batteries•  Battery shut offswitch so you don’t drain the battery when you’re not using it•  Swapped out the 2old crank ceiling vents for new Fantastic Vents 2250 w/ reversible fans andthermostats•  Two new propanetanks with tank cover – without taking everything apart they seem fairly full•  Repaired orreplaced all propane lines, regulators and pigtails and fully tested them•  Eazlift Elite#48051weight distributing hitch system• Curt Sway Control •  JR Products 2912Grand Aero towing mirrors •  New easy to operatehitch crank•  LED low energy use bulbadded to the vintage exterior door light. Interior/ structural:•  Suburban NT-30SPElectronic Ignition ducted furnace with thermostat•  New Suburban SW6Pdirect vent gas water heater•  Re-plumbed trailer withPEX flexible, expandable hose plumbing•  DC to AC Pure SineWave Inverter #INV-1000PS so that you can use 110 appliances, laptop, etc. whenon battery power. There are two inverter plugs in the trailer, one by thedinette and one by the front door bed.•  Safety Alertpropane and carbon monoxide detector •  Interior BatteryIndicator gauge•  10 all LED lowenergy use interior light fixtures that feature good warm, bright light (we addedextra fixtures)•  Peerless high-risekitchen faucet Other Interior:•  Replaced all drawerand most door fronts w/ solid alder, stained to match original finish. Thelarger doors are still original.•  Alder wall betweenbath bed w/ hanging hook for banjo or musical instrument•  Alder bookshelfover front window that holds lots of books, or? and alder storage compartmentat one end of the bed•  Built platform bed withtwo large drawers underneath on gliders for easy opening •  Nice, very comfortable9.5” thick Sam’s Club twin bed mattress. To the backside of that, we added 6”wide solid foam bar. Together they make an almost full size mattress (45” x75”) on which full size sheets work well. We could have made the foam bar alittle wider but wanted to leave room to be able to get sheets on easily. (Isee so many vintage trailer ads that list queen size beds. highly doubt that! Most old trailers have 4” thin, off size – between twin and full mattresses, thatno sheets fit.)•  Replaced old toiletwith homemade composting one that has never been used. That set up can easilybe removed and new toilet installed on the existing plumbing septic. Theseptic system itself is in good shape. It was just checked out.•  New oak toilet seat•  Added vintage Chevrondoor pulls and vintage milk glass Depression Era drawer pulls  I have Clear Title for the trailer. Although know this trailer is in very good condition,it is 45 years old and will be sold AS IS.
