1971 GOLDEN HAWK GRAND SPORT VINTAGE CAMPER – 16FT – SOLAR
Remodeled 16 ft single axle camper, bed, full bath, kitchen and solar!
A one of kind RV camper, perfect for two!  We remodeled and upgraded this camper little over years ago and since it is on the small side we were able to make several upscale improvements.  You will not find another camper like this one!
Electrical – We installed Renogy 100-watt solar panel on the roof.  It includes 30-amp Wanderer controller and is connected to Exide deep-cycle marine batteries.  This is without doubt one of the best improvements we made!  We also installed 2000-watt (4000 peak) inverter.  You can plug the main power cord into the inverter and liven up all of the 110 outlets or just use the outlet on the inverter.  My wife was able to use her hairdryer and curling iron with no problem.  It will also run the microwave or coffee pot!  Only three of the light fixtures are 110, all of the rest are 12-volt.  Also 12-volt is the TV with built in DVD player, both water pumps, Bluetooth stereo with ceiling mounted Kenwood speakers and car outlet so you can charge your phone, tablet etc.  We also installed remote controlled LED color changing lights above and under the custom-built console.  As you can see, you can go completely off-grid with this awesome camper!
Bedroom – custom built bed with REAL full-size mattress (no uncomfortable camper mattress here!).  Gorgeous custom-built headboard that pulls forward to reveal storage area for all of your adult beverages.  Entire mattress platform easily lifts up to large rolling storage compartment as well as the 30-gallon fresh water tank, water pump, water heater, battery and large portable water containers that hold an additional 21 gallons.  The portable containers can also be connected to an outdoor water pump!  Perfect for an outdoor shower or just spraying off your feet.
Kitchen – One of our biggest upgrades is the oversized 3-way frig/freezer.  Keeps everything perfectly cold whether using electric or propane.  Countertop was upgraded to granite, stainless-steel sink and new faucet.  Gorgeous granite, stainless and glass backsplash continues the high-end feel.  We kept the original burner stovetop which has newly powder coated cover.  The original oven was removed and in it’s place we installed 10,000 BTU propane heater.  All water lines were replaced with fiberglass reinforced rubber and were run above the floor and inside the walls so no freezing lines as long as the heat is on!  Across from the granite countertop is the custom-built console with very unique epoxy countertop and color changing LED accent lighting.  This console has slide-out table and storage for folding chairs, pull-out spice rack and storage that can be accessed from outside.
Bathroom – One of the most important upgrades was new 30-gallon blackwater tank!  We also installed new toilet and marble sink.  In order to install the huge frig we had to remove the original leaky shower faucet.  The new showerhead now connects to the bathroom sink and hangs from the ceiling (works so much better the original).  There is 110 5.4 amp air conditioner installed in the bathroom window (we still have the original window) that will keep the camper nice and cool even in 100+ degrees.
Storage – There is so much storage in this little camper!!!  There are upper and lower cabinets on both sides of the kitchen as well as floor to ceiling storage area just inside the entry door.  Tons of storage under the bed!  Bathroom storage under the sink and custom built medicine cabinet over the sink.  We also made several hidden storage areas behind the bed, behind the heater and under the frig.  This comes in very handy when attending festival that doesn’t allow your favorite adult beverages!
Misc – All curtains are custom-made and light blocking.  Window screens were replaced with heavy duty pet screen which make the windows look tinted.  All new water-proof flooring throughout and cedar under the bed to keep the bugs away. It also comes with an RCA window antenna that works pretty good. 
Outside On the outside you will find an electric jack to save your back, 10-foot manual pull-out awning and custom push button water faucet.  This faucet is connected to hose under the bed that can tap into the portable water containers or even bottle of wine, whatever works for you!  Up front you will find two freshly filled color matched propane tanks with new automatic switching valve.  There is an outside storage compartment in the rear that holds all of the leveling jacks which am including with the sale.  The tires are ply and the light plug is 4-prong however will include the 7-prong adapter.  You will find an additional storage bin on the tongue of the camper.  painted the silver stripe and added some custom lettering however the rest of the outside is fairly original.
I put new coat on the roof this year and touched up all of the paint inside.  tried really hard to have it ready to roll for the new owners however discovered one problem while filling up the water this year – the water heater is leaking and will need to be replaced.  replacement water heater will run you around $300. may be able to get used one, if can will update the listing.
As you can see, this is not your everyday camper renovation!  It’s small so you won’t need giant truck to pull it and the inside is first class all the way!
A $500 deposit through PayPal will be required if you are the lucky buyer of this hotel room on wheels.  The balance can be made by PayPal or in cash at pickup (obviously there is no delivery).  We are located approximately 50 miles south of Chicago.
