BACKSTORY
The recovery gear was originally mounted on but in order to release its full potential its former owners remounted it on strectched tractor unit formerly owned by James Son. During the remount they had it shipped out and new underlift foot made to allow them to be able to comprehensively recover their own fleet of buses and coaches. This was done and load tested. It has resulted in truly amazing reach of just over 10 foot. It was then bodied and painted by them and was used solely on their own fleet should recovery be required which by their own admission was very, very rare. testament to this is the as new condition of the gear, showing signs of weathering but nothing of daily wear and tear of general use recovery truck.
Closure of the bus company lead to us purchasing it. We purchased it with specific need to recover our customer's horseboxes when rear lift was needed. Truth be told this hasnt panned out as it was predicted as our horseboxes very rarely break down and even more rarely need recovering and never as yet in our period of ownership from the rear axle. In all honesty the ERF has had more birthdays with us than it has jobs, between the three drivers we have alloted an estimated jobs with it, all of which were done in the ERF just to share out the jobs amongst our recovery vehicles. It has covered approx 1000km in our ownership with most of the kms just running it round the block to keep it fresh and everything as it should be. Stored in barn whilst its been with us and run up regularly.

We did have thoughts of remounting the gear onto something later more as toy for our toybox rather than for any specific need but we simply have no work for it and it would be wasted with us. If it doesnt make what it needs to then wont give it away. I'll put it through our workshops and have them do the remount, rebody and repaint and then look to sell then.

The gear on this is simply awesome for its age and price! The reach gives so much confidence that you can recover anything. In the images it is lifting our wheel slidebed which is about ton on the front axle with the Atlas 4006 crane right behind the cab. This was lifted at full 10 foot reach, plus on grids and on tickover. Put simply the gear doesnt fail to lift whatever you give it, although some ballast may be wanted on the front to let the gear realise its full potential.

Yes its no Mk6 Interstater but then paintjob for new Mk6 would be more than am asking.Would the body win any beauty contests?... perhaps no, but as an entry into heavy recovery, contraflow work or as gear suitable for remount dont think you would find better. It has done all that we have asked of it and never fails to come home after doing the job. This is no Mk1 with the reach like an EKA, this has the reach of modern lift with ERF running gear.....bullet proof.

All gear in the pictures is included (This includes forks, heights of pedastals, wheel grids, straps, lightboard, towbar etc) any personal tools in the lockers are excluded. Any queries please ask.

Not MOT'd due to lack of use, currently SORN'd. Workshop facilities available should you wish to look around it for complete inspection viewings. have no idea what it might need for an MOT so cant help on that. It starts, drives and does what it should but know better than to insult you by saying think it will go straight through.

VAT will be added to final price, understandably no warranty on this one, no returns and collection only. If you want Paypal then you can have guess who will be paying the extra costs involved and it wont be me, cash on collection is best.

Good home preferred, genuinely sad to see her go, any trial welcome, serious offers considered.
