Viewing very welcome and sensible offers consideredVW T5 Transporter 2004 54 plate registered as Campervan with DVLACanterbury Kent178k miles, used weekly so miles will increaseMOT April 2020
94-104 BHP estimated££Full Service History (please see below breakdown) slight gap serviced by owner at the time.2x keysPAS, remote electric and heated wing mirrors (T5.1). Air Con (rare), Alloys wheels. Remote locking, Barn doors, electric windows, Tow bar (we've never used it). Sleeps 4, Rock "N" Roll bed with belts in the back and sleeps in the pop up roof (2 children comfortably and adults snuggly).
The front passenger seats swivel round to face the rear seats. The cushion also lifts up for extra storage. This was work van and was converted by the last owner.  The conversion was done to high standard with proper units.  It has an electric hook-up, which is underneath the bonnet.  It also have freshwater feed via water container (electric pump) which you fill up.  The waste water drain is straight out of the bottom via pipe.  It has a sink with dual gas hobs, fridge with freezer ice box.  There are several USB ports and one 240V plug socket.  There are also USB ports in the pop-top sleeping compartment.  The van although converted does need finishing touches to make it nice. The Pop-Roof has the zip flaps, so you can look out through them whilst up in the roof.  Also the gas struts will probably need replacing as the base of the roof (the bit you lay on doesn't stay up).  We tend to wedge it, to keep it up.Has foldaway table, which then stores on the back door.  Also we have Thermo suction blinds for all windows.  Only used for the last Holiday in Cornwall, so virtually brand new and cost just over £100.
The gas hook-up is simple one, the bottle has regulator and the proper pie connected to the gas hob. Not professionally fitted but will need to be properly checked over.  tend to turn the gas off at night or when we are not using it.  also before we go away or use it tend to do the washing up liquid test on the seals. The Transporter is registered as Campervan with the DVLA.  My insurance with mirrored policy is around £240 PA Fully Comp.
This was works van, so it is very well used, with dents, scuffs etc.
To be honest if we were keeping it the body work could do with re-spray as the lacquer is coming off in places.  There are several door dents the odd bit of rust but nothing major. But it is 15 years old. The speakers and the cd player could do with replacing.  The steering wheel is worn. The side door could do with new central locking sensor as does not always open on the remote, you just have to open close few times.  will clean the contact to see if it makes difference.  The passengers window regulator broke last year, so replaced it and left out part.  Still works but could do with refitting.  The drivers door grab handel came off. These are cheap on ebay for around £20 have the cover.
There is leisure battery that runs the electrics for while when it is not connected to main power supply.  There are also down lights, but the switch isn't fitted, but all do is take the fuse out if we want them off.  may have one fitted in the next week or so, if get time.We purchased this in Feb 2017 with the intention of using it in School holidays and weekends away.  But at the moment can't seem to get the same time off as my wife, so it is not getting used as it should.  As the moment sometimes am use it as my daily commute to and from work around 50 miles per day.

This Campervan could look really nice with face lift, which we were going to do, or the Caravelle front bumper swap over.  But it all depends what you want to do to it as every taste if different.
Mechanically:We have had the following replaced:Both rear bearings, new alternator, new starter motor, the dreaded metal cooling pipe, brake pads etc.The pipe to the turbo, head gasket seal, this was only due to oil loss and nothing more.  The campervan does smoke little bit but only on start up and when you put your foot down little bit.  the issue with the MOT if you look at the MOT history on the DVLA website was the turbo pipe and the head gasket leaking which caused the excess smoke.  Much better now!
We were told by the last owner, that his mechanic had changed the cambelt. We have no paperwork for this but on the day we collected it the owner called his mechanic and we spoke to him and he confirmed it had been done the previous year.As could not be 100% sure that this had been done and last year we went on long trip to Cornwall, had the Cambelt changed before we went away.  As for other mecahnicla faults, it seems to be okay. The clutch works, but no paperwork to say when it was last done, or if it has ever been done. Not sure if it is dual mass or standard, but currently working and not slipping.
