ORIGINAL 1984 T25 VW CAMPERVAN (Autostrada/Diamond RV) Selling this lovely original T25 on behalf of my Father whohas owned and cherished it for the past 13 years. Sadly due to health relatedissues he is now forced to sell, as it is not being used enough to justifykeeping it and has incredibly only covered 1200 miles in the past years.I will endeavour to describe it as best can based on how Imyself see it. It was bought new in 1984 and my Father bought it in 2004from local couple that had owned it for 12 years. It has only covered68046miles from new!It is taxed until June 2017 and has 10 months MOT. Howeversince the MOT it has been sat idle and developed an accelerator problem, whichhas transpired to be sticking accelerator cable issue. brand new cable hasbeen purchased and is included in the sale but do not have the time orresources to fit it myself. With this in mind the van would need to betrailered away as not realistically safe to drive at present. With theaccelerator repaired, can see no reason why this cannot be ready to use forthis summer.As can clearly be seen from the photos there is somecorrosion in several places. To be fair is expected for 33-year-old vehiclethat has spent most if not all of its life on the South coast. Having said thatit is not too bad but welcome and encourage any viewing prior to purchase so asto see for yourself. The interior is all original and therefore somewhat tired socould do with good sorting out but has plenty of potential possibly for fullrestoration when imagine it will be worth in the region of £10,000.Further details:T25 campervan, 1915cc, 78bhp air-cooled engine with only 68kon the clock from new. The gearbox is automatic and was replaced believe witha new gearbox four years ago.Taxed until June 2017, MOT valid until February 2018.Interior comprises of, fridge, sink, cooker and grill, manual and electrically operated tap,warm air gas heating system, 12volt and 240-volt mains hookup. Main and leisurebatteries (located under the front seats), rock and roll double bed, bothdriver’s and passenger’s (Captains) seats turn 180 degrees, 12disc cd changer,face off JVC stereo, brand new wheel trims but importantly all for original VWhub caps included, large capacity underfloor water tank, tow bar and electrics,hightop with plenty of storage. Probably plenty of other details have missedbut feel free to come and view for yourselves in the Portland area. I personally drove the van from the other side of Bridportto Portland and mechanically it drove verywell with plenty of get and go. The gearbox and engine are sound but with anew gearbox and very low mileage engine, that was not really any surprise. Ican certainly see the attraction of owning T25 with every VW transporter andcampervan driver waving at you. ;-)So there we have it.
