It is with regret that we must sell our pride and joy, this beautiful 1975 Riviera campervan. We have only owned her since 2014 but sadly an illness in the family is preventing us from being able to use her. It would seem sensible to let someone else have her and enjoy her. She has been 100% reliable in our ownership and never broken down, even on long trips through France. The van started out life in Oregon in the states so being from dry area she is as rust free as you're going to find for 40 year old van. By that mean she is 100% original with no rust to speak of, all the metal work is crisp and as straight as the day it left the factory. The garage where we have her maintained (AVW in Caernarfon) described her as the best type they have seen since they were brand new, so that is measure of her quality. scraped the original under seal off her couple of summers ago to have her Waxoyled, the whole underside was shiny white and not even surface rust anywhere. As van think you'd be hard pressed to find better one anywhere at any price.As you can see from the photographs, she is fitted out with lowline cupboards in cream with an oak finish top (and matching table that is stored in dedicated fitting under the roof cabinet, She has Smev 9222 combined hob/sink, Vitrifigo C50i fridge with small freezer compartment, 12V electrics (brand new leisure battery) as well as the essential 240V hookup with the socket in the engine compartment to keep it dry. The bed is Rusty Lee R&R supplied and upholstered by Delilahs along with the interior panels, they also upholstered the MGF seats in the front which are superbly comfortable, they also supplied the curtains and the poptop mattress The steering wheel is genuine Motolita dished one not cheap flat copy, the horn push also works. The windscreen washers have been converted to 12V rather than the original air pressure effort.The pop top roof is spring assisted which makes it really easy to put up and when down is secured by spring loaded metal fasteners, the fabric is reinforces vinyl which is original to the van, there are couple of small repairs where it has been trapped in the lifting mechanism at some time but it doesn't need replacing and is as said original to the van which is actually quite rare. There is sleeping room for two up top and mattress is included. The engine is original and running very strongly, it has been fitted with twin Webber carburettors which let it run very smoothly and with bit more power to get you up large hills which the old single carb struggled with. The engine bay has Fireboy automatic fire extinguisher fitted just in case. All the original tin work is present (as you'd expect) so engine cooling has never been an issue. The engine bay wasn't resprayed with the rest of the van so is in beige colour. All the running gear is excellent and the gear change is incredibly smooth for T2.As mentioned above, this camper has been 100% reliable during the time we have had her, the only issue we ever had was the common hot start problem with the starter motor electrics, that has been fixed with the addition of hot start relay. The only other issue with the van that I'm aware of is that the snail fan for the heaters isn't wired in, with us only using the van in the summer this seems to have skipped my mind. The MOT is current to 19th December and has been serviced at AVW before that so is not due again for while. As for road tax, she is registered as "Historic Vehicle" and as such is duty free.
