Well, never thought the day would come but we have reluctantly decided to sell our beloved T4 Campervan. Bought as an empty panel van almost years ago, he has undergone quite the transformation as can be seen in the pictures. Prior to the conversion, we had some bodywork done, including new full rear arch on the drivers side. The conversion was done professionally by the amazing Colebrook Transporters at Valley Road in Plymouth in June/July 2015. It has also been maintained by them during our ownership. All materials and equipement used was sourced and supplied new by Colebrook, all electrics fitted professionally with correct fuseboard and trips, etc. We have only ever used the van as day van, never slept in it (yet!) and as you would expect the conversion still looks amazing. It has been properly insulated and carpeted first, before the units were handmade and installed, so the van is very cosy and warm. Plenty of storage including two cupboards, full size drawer and large sliding roller door too. Not to mention the underbed storage too, with kickboard and drop down door for easy access. The front double bench seat swivels 180 degrees so when parked up you have seating for people all facing each other. The drivers seat is 'Captains' seat, with twin arm rests, very comfy! There is also gear stick extension fitted to make gear changes easier.
We moved from Devon to Cornwall last year, buying shop and house to renovate. Unfortunately, this has meant we have not had the time to use the van during the past year for it's intended use, although it is used as daily driver most days, just not as camper. We have lot of plans for our new business and so we have decided to sell the camper to free up some funds for our shop. We will still have t4, but just van as we love them!!
There's not lot of history prior to our ownership, other than receipts for cambelt at 115k. However, he has been maintained 100% during his time with us, including new steering rack, fuel timing valve, oil change and all filters changed in last months, suspension bushes, new ignition barrel and new keys, all correctly fitted so all locks work on one key, new dash speakers, headlight wiring loom upgrade (so you can actually see at night!), new aerial, vacuum pipes replaced, new wing mirrors, two new tyres....the list goes on!! Worked out recently we have over £15000 in this vehicle to date, so he has certainly wanted for nothing!! Everything works as it should on the dash, fuel guage, temp gauge, etc. Temp sits at 90 when warmed up and doesn't move, engine is running very nicely and has never let us down. We were looking at getting him resprayed last year but with the narrow lanes down to the beaches and onto the moors in Devon and Cornwall, we decided not too. Other than recovering the front seats to match the rears, that would be the only thing left to do if you wanted pristine van. Engine pulls very well and is surprisingly economical. We have driven to Snowdonia and back to see family last xmas on single tank of fuel (580 miles), not bad for fully loaded camper!
