It's with heavy heart that we've decided to sell our Mazda Bongo. We've owned her for years now, purchasing off my sister in 2014 after they owned it for around 6-7 years. We've had many wonderful adventures in it but our children are now asking to go on an aeroplane, so fear our camping days may be over!
It's an unconverted Freetop 2.5 litre TDI, automatic gearbox. It's an Reg, so 1995 and has covered 218,000 km, but there's still lot of life left in the engine.It pulls well and is very reliable. It's North Japan model, so we've added 110mah leisure battery and split charge relay so both leisure and start batteries are recharged from the alternator but discharge separately. We've also installed Hadyn low coolant alarm and an engine temp controller (with alarm), so that we're instantly made aware of low coolant and can tack engine temperatures. These have saved us on numerous occasions and must-have for any Bongo, regardless of condition.
We had the rear arches replaced in 2016 and gave the Bongo full respray in its original colour (Plum) including all door wells. We also replaced the original stereo with an Android double-din until with sat-nav and reverse camera. believe it can also play DVD's (never tried, we had Raspberry pie hooked up to TV)
