Alas for it is time to bid farewell to myHymer 544, ‘Bert’, the best Hymer ever did own (I’ve had few!) reallythought this was going to be my keeper! Only for sale due to new bigger project!!!  I have company Happy Camper Ltd thatrestores old campers (find us on Facebook) and first bought this van in May,2016, from lovely semi retired German couple who were residing in theUK.  It was still on German platesat the time, mot’d it, serviced it, registered it then promptly sold it to afriend of mine (didn’t really want to sell it back then either!).  As luck would have it ended up buyingit back the following year and have spent the last two years using andimproving him.  Bert now looks anddrives ACE! Bert has Peugeot 2.5 turbo diesel engine,manual speed gearbox, MOT’d until 27/06/20, and has covered just 150,478km,that’s 93,502 miles.  Mechanicallythis van is excellent, as is the chassis and interior, comes with all thepaperwork re it’s registration in the UK (01/07/2016), first registered inGermany 06/04/1989 so has an age related plate ‘F’ reg!  Comes with huge history file, much ofit in German, but you can tell that the van has clearly been very wellmaintained.  Recent front tyres,leisure battery and starter battery, and the all important cam belt was done28/07/17 (148,154 km). The Interior has been tastefullyrefurbished – new dashboard in lovely green retro vinyl (and also addedsoundproofing).  Front and rearseats have been re upholstered to very high standard, x6 seat belts fortraveling and all passengers can sit in forward facing position.  New cupboard in keeping with theoriginal style fitted by the front passenger seat so very handy for maps,documents etc.  Nice check curtainsand new main skylight – very expensive! Comes fully loaded with everything you’dexpect from Hymer, more of hotel on wheels than camper – motorbike rack,cycle rack, shower hatch so you can wash the kids down outside – good funafter beach day!! Full LPG gas bottle, CD/radio, hot and cold running water,fridge, hob, heater, toilet, sink etc, etc and everything works! I’m bit of camper van nut, having ownedall manner of vans for the last 20+ years, like to think know good onewhen see one and Bert is more than good, not perfect but pretty excellentactually!  Odd marks andimperfections here and there but nothing that really stands out, has been 100%reliable in the time I’ve had him, starts first time every time, no weirdnoises, easy to change gear, doesn’t lose his water or oil! Bert has had recent service and will come with new gas safetyinspection certificate for peace of mind. An absolutely brilliant van, you could drive this van anywhere, it’sready for the NEXT ADVENTURE!! Really sad to let this one go but it will make someone very happy!  Don’t hesitate to contact me with anyquestions or to arrange viewings, payment on collection/bank transfer preferred.  simon@happycamper.ltd.uk tel:07738166445.
