Ducato ambulance part way converted to camper. We bought what we thought was very easy project to turn anambulance which had done minimal miles into working campervan to gotravelling with our young family. Hence the rear folding seats being usefulthing to us.Several things we have done to the van since beginning sucha conversionInstalled swivel to the double passenger seat.Established that the Eberspacher 5kw air heateris working but shouldn’t be left connected else it will kill the 12v batteryHad the window rubbers inserts resealed toprevent any leaks.Had welding done underneath to repair cills forprevious motHad the air suspension bags replaced. There isstill slow leak some where but you can pump the bags up to drivable heightand pull the fuse which provides decent driving experience.Had the front door rehung so they are decent fitaround the edgesTook out the rails for the gurney to prep for anew floor going in and removed rotted wood from previous leaking windowPartially removed lino floor (shouldn’t be hardto do the rest)Removed disability ramp (we still have this ifthe buyer wants it.)Removed the seal on the roof vent ready for abetter vent. Or you could sika flex the existing one back downInstalled bar roof rackHad second key set cutAnyway I’ve loads of hours invested into this project but itis too big for our house being out front all the time and don’t realisticallyget enough time to work on it. If had bigger property I’d sorn it and workon it at my leisure but at some point this is costing me money just having iton the road.Things to know. The van is driveable, but second gear is going. spoke to acompany which is based near Norwich which deals with many Ducato camper vansand apparently, they have know fault which is that the water is channelled down onto the gear box, this water gets into the gear box. Because the gear synchros are made of sintered metalthis is eaten away by emulsified gear box fluid and leads to issues changing upinto some gears. Whilst driving it in its current state if you cant find thegear in second you can jump to 3rd and drop down always but havefound it possible to get into 2nd with practice normal by being carefulto match the revs and not over rev in 1st.That said the gearbox company spoke to have solution to refurbishthe gearbox for approx. £800 where they remove any damaged sintered gearsynchros with brass press fit rings and reroute the water channel so that thenew gearbox fluid doesn’t again get emulsified. They assured me this is solidfix, they never need second refurb. If ended up keeping the camper and travelingwith it would get this done.I've been as honest and upfront as can here. For this reason will not accept returns on this auction. If it doesn't sell we will probably finish the van ourselves over longer time frame and find place to store it till then.
