up for auction is my 1997 reg volkswagen transporter LWBits fitted with the 1.9 td ABL engine with manual gearbox.mot expires 11/02/2020 the V5 is present and the van has sets of keysits been partly converted in the back, it is fully carpeted in the rear and has couple of benches with table fitted.i was going to convert it properly with rock and roll bed etc, but extended family means this old girl must go for bigger caravan.
the van has been lowered, its sat on some nice 18 inch wheels with really good tyres (wheels do have few curb marks now )it has colour coded bumpers fitted, new front and rear lights, new bonnet bra fitted, paint work in general is on good order it does have rust showing through now, but its 22 year old van so to be expected.the van has an aftermarket back box exhaust fitted, its not loud. loads of bits and bobs done to it, im just listing what know it has.
when bought it the engine had died, spent couple of months trying to find 1.9 td ABL engine to replace the broken one and eventually found one, the engine came from volkswagen transporter breaker have receipt to prove, the engine was removed from the salvage van at 116782 miles, and fitted to mine.the last mot was done after the engine was just fitted and the clock was showing 159495, the clock in the van is now showing 160238 so havent done great deal with it since owning the van. before the gearbox was bolted back to the engine the clutch was changed, so it has brand new clutch in. and the full set of glow plug went into the engine before last December .
