It was stripped out to the metal, cleaned and any holes were welded. There was door on the side which was used to get the gas bottle out, this was broken so it was welded up with vent, that’s why it is black. The roof, the floor and the side were insulated with celotex, then the floor laminated. Then the roof was ply boarded, this is great base to start with. It can be left as it is or cladded.
I built fixed double bed, which is very comfortable, I’m 6ft and can sleep comfortably on it.
There is leisure battery and fuse board for the rear electrics, which ran lights, phone chargers, fridge etc… It has light and USB sockets running off the leisure battery, with the connections to charge the leisure battery when the engine is running.
The front bench seat was removed and leather Audi seat was replaced. have another Audi seat for the drivers side but haven’t had time to fit it. (This can be sold separately if required)
I added 12v cigarette output and twin usb in the cab, which run off the engine battery and MP3/CD/AUX stereo and speakers.
There is worktop unit with double ring gas Kamper oven, gas bottle and an enamel sink with waste which empties outside and very useful camping toilet. There's also Reggio 12/240v fridge, that is connected to the leisure battery via the fuse board.
Loads of service history, MOTs back to 2007. From 2007 to 2019 it covered less than 50,000 miles with an re-con engine at approx 180,000.
V5 present, registered as MOTOR CARAVAN. Cheaper insurance and tax than commercial vehicle.
I took it around Europe last year (2000 miles) no problems and was very comfortable.
It is perfect for festivals, camping etc… and is waiting for someone to take it ti the next level.
