1968 Aljo Gaucho
condition: good
fuel: other
transmission: other
This is nice sound vintage camper that would be so cute fixed up! It even has bathroom with shower and feels very spacious for such small lightweight camper.  It is the Aljo Gaucho and much lighter at only weighs 2980 lbs. hitch weight of 380. It looks much bigger in pictures than it is! It's 17.5' long out the hitch and 18' with.

The good: it is nice and dry. Floor is solid, has new ventless furnace, the stove/oven seems to be in working order and clean. The a/c rooftop unit works great! It is dry previous owner sealed all joints caulk and put multiple layers of rubberized coating on roof so there arent any leaks currently. am 6' tall and plenty of headroom for me. The last owner also put on fresh coat of paint outside so color is fresh and vibrant but not original. According to paperwork it was white "met blue"  There are no soft soft spots in floor and could not see any water damage to any wall supports so structurally it is in good to great condition. will try to add pics of floor supports later.

There is TONS of storage. Closet at end, under seats, under bed/couch, cabinets, and next to bed. There is no damage to the majority of the cabinetry or walls. Tires are ok- probably half tread but should be changed out and bearings greased before long drive. It has been sitting quite awhile. Propane tanks are good. Tile in shower looks good as does the linoleum in kitchen area. The toilet was updated. Table area turns into full? Twin? size bed and rear couch is queen size. It won't take much to turn the inside into super cute nest or macho fishing man cave:).

Now the bad: seam caulking did the job but the exterior looks messy. was going to peel out the caulk and redo but never got around to it. Previous owner took out the refrigerator and added tin to cover compressor area. Again- sloppy looking but if replacing refrigerator that's no big deal. They renamed it Barko... no idea.

It looks like mouse got in somehow (most likely the roof vent that was still there from gas fridge) and nested in cupboard. have pic included showing ceiling area they chewed thru. It looks like it goes to outside but actually just under temp ceiling board. pulled that down so you could see that too. So that roof vent should be sealed off or removed unless you want to put gas fridge back in. That would be the pics after air conditioner. After that is corner and the dried out ceiling section.

The bed support under the futon mattress looks like two pieces of paneling and one is broken. Need new piece of plywood if want to be able to turn into couch sitting area again.

There are couple area where you can see previous leak issues but areas are very small. Any water damage is from before it was sealed and everything was dry this spring. looked at main support beams under floor in cabinet areas and all look solid and undamaged. The couple little areas that were damaged by previous leaks have added pics of. The main area inside that needs  repair would be the fridge vent area/cupboard and one corner by the bed needs mildew clean off.  See pics below.

Previous owner also painted cabinetry and it looks like she did it over the top of paper partially peeled off rather than remove paper first:( personally do not like the color- but guess that is personal preference. The cupboards were originally cover wood grain paper which is pretty funny when you look and can see the actual grain matched the grain on the paper.

The shag carpet area and upholstery looks original but is in reasonable shape ....w all its orange and brown-ness. The awning material ripped off right along the outside top edge but the awning, arms and base are there if you can figure out way to reattach. There is also new linoleum in another section that doesn't look like ever installed but rather just laid out so it is curling up at edges. You could just roll up and take out or attach adhesive.  Overall the inside is dusty and needs cleaning.

Could you use as is or at least without huge renovation? Yes- good cleaning, piece of plywood for the bed and tires. Unfortunately do not have any way to vacuum out or hose it down so it is very dusty after sitting.  The tail lights on it look original but there is set of new ones if you want to change out. It is very comfortable layout and would be easy to live in longer term too if you need something to live in while you were building house or wanted to put on seasonal site.

I put in lot of pics to show as much as could about the damage so looks worse than it actually is but don't want anyone feeling misled.  This sells cash only for bill of sale -no title but do have vin no. do have info on last owner as well as the first. So getting title shouldn't be any problem. Also have all the original paperwork and manuals plus the air conditioner (which appears to be professionally installed but may not be original), and for the new wall heater.  So you could just fix up or if you want the info to put back to original is all there.
